A friend recently commented that she tries to see the humor in every situation in life, and that it helps her get through hard times. I think she’s worked harder at it than I have, because I often fail to even try to see the humor. But I know that I can try to see the beauty.
Brenda Ferrimani mentioned protecting her inner child on the “Gifted Child” post, and this is how my inner child looks. This photo makes me happy for a lot of reasons. I remember the shirt, a hand-me-down of my brother’s, and I still have Raggedy Ann, though she’s a lot more raggedy these days. We’re inside the family car, a blue Chevy. I think it was my aunt who took the picture, but I’m not sure. I thought I’d share it so you’d know I wasn’t always crying.
That photo goes right to my heart. You’ve always been so beautiful, and you were a sweet flower of a little girl. I remember the summer you were twelve, taking the Raggedies on the summer vacation, and how delightful I thought that was. <3
You were so cute, Laura! Can’t believe you still have your Raggedy Ann! – Love it!
Thanks, Brenda! She’s very well loved.
