I’m a big fan of Leah Palmer Preiss’s work, especially because she illustrated my short story “The Silent Meadow” when it appeared in Cricket Magazine. The original art now hangs in my home, and she graciously allowed me use one of the illustrations for the cover of the e-book version of the story. You can find more of her work at Curious Art and at Oddments and Curiosities.

I recognized the artist immediately, because her illustrations for Silent Meadow were so incredibly striking. This picture begs for a story….
Are you going to write one, Cheryl? If so, I’d love to see it!
I recognized the artist too. What a lovely, evocative picture. The girl doesn’t look sad or stuck, the way you’d think someone would in a thorn thicket.
More contemplative? Intrigued? Curious?
